Speakers: Ram Chaudhari, Ph.D., FACN, CNS, Sr. Executive VP, Chief Scientific Officer & Co-Founder, Fortitech INSIDER Partner Series An important development in nutritional science in recent years has been the discovery of anti-inflammatory properties of certain nutrients and bioactive food components. There has also been the rediscovery and increased appreciation of the potential value of certain herbs, spices and other botanical-based traditional medicine approaches that may fight inflammation and help in the prevention or treatment of certain diseases or conditions. The general public is less aware of the importance of dietary anti-inflammatory nutrients than they should be, but there has been a growing awareness of this concept among the more health-conscious consumer. The latter group has likely gained this awareness from the many positive news reports of the health benefits associated with fish consumption and the role of omega-3 fatty acids, such as DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) and EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) in reducing inflammation. It is important that this consumer momentum and awareness about anti-inflammatory nutrients is capitalized upon and expanded. This webinar will demonstrate how strategic nutrition can be employed to develop novel fortified food and beverage products targeted at reducing or managing inflammation. Attendees will learn about specific anti-inflammatory nutrients and bioactive components, formulation challenges and solutions and gain an overview of custom nutrient premix prototypes developed for specific product applications

As I watered my garden this morning and admired my green, red and black kale , I was struck by the simple importance of diversity. In the 1991 film, ” Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves ,” a small white-skinned, English peasant girl sees her first dark skinned Muslim and asks him, “Why did God paint you black?” He smiles and answers, “Because Allah loves infinite variety.” The way Morgan Freeman delivers that line makes me smile every time I hear it because life certainly does love — and depend upon — infinite variety. Diversity is not simply a politically correct term
